my plan is to delete the database for 2.0.12, unpack 3.0 in /usr/share,
run /usr/share/doc/wordpress/examples/setup-mysql -n example example.com to
setup the new database.

/usr/share/doc/wordpress/examples/setup-mysql Creates by default a Wordpress
mysql configuration depending on required fully
qualified domain name(FQDN). (setup-mysql was shipped with wordpress.deb
2.0.12.)

then follow the 5min instructions from 3.0 readme.html.

please advise.
