[wp-testers] Quick questions for permalinks

1)  Is there a way to make category specific permalink? or any plug-in over
there. I found advanced-permalink plugin that do that, but it is outdated
and author is not supporting ti anymore. It has some bugs.

2) I saw this discussion at
http://dougal.gunters.org/blog/2009/02/04/efficient-wordpress-permalinks
There Otto said that a single post permalink of the type:

http://example/ANYFIXEDWORD/%category%/%post_id%

Does not cause any performance problem to WP.  As WP can identify that fixed
word and quickly find the post.

Otto, can you confirm this?  (the discussion in the referrenced site it is
closed)
