[wp-testers] 2.6b3 New Setup Problems

Hi All,

I thought I'd throw beta 3 down in a test environment to play with a couple
of things. I'm having massive problems getting it up and running.

Now, either I'm sleep deprived having got up at the crack of dawn to queue
for an iPhone, or there's something seriously wrong.

I've uploaded all files from the beta 3 release, copied wp-config-sample as
wp-config, filled in my details, uploaded, and all I get is error connecting
to database (big, nasty text too, not a nice WP error).

So I deleted wp-config, made the folder writeable, tried letting Wordpress
create its own, and all I get is the config form, followed by the WP Error
Establishing a Database Connection page. Wp-config is never created.

Has anyone tried throwing beta 3 down from scratch? Any problems?

Care to show me the error of my ways if this isn't a bug? I've done this a
thousand times, can't believe I'm doing something wrong. Hence the post
here.
