[wp-testers] RC2 And 2.7 In The Same Day?

When writing up a post about the release of 2.,7, I looked back to see 
when RC2 was released and it looks like they were both released to the 
public on the same day. This seems odd to me. I know that a Release 
Candidate is just that, a release candidate but I just find it odd that 
an RC2 would be released and in the same day, the actual version. Maybe 
this is not weird at all?
