Using the 2007-01-09 build on MAMP

I'm getting a database error (used on a custom theme) with the Customizable
Post Listings<http://www.coffee2code.com/archives/2004/08/27/plugin-customizable-post-listings/>(
I know it's an older plugin, but it's worked through
2.0.6 ):

I'm also getting a weird error (on the default theme, and with all plugins
deactivated) where posts are doubled when I switch to using a static front
page. No matter what page I choose to be the posts page, it always diplays
two of each post.
