[wp-testers] vmware WordPress virtual machines?

Hello testing co-conspirators,

With vmware server [1] being gratis software now for Linux and
Windows, I would love for us to roll some virtual machines (VM) images
for the various WordPress server configurations. Starting with the
more common configurations.

An example is ALMWork's VM for Buzilla.[2]

Of course, it is not appropriate for us to share VMs of proprietary
software such as Microsoft Windows.

Anyone have the time and experience to lead this investigation at this time?
