Hi,

How about making is_email() a pluggable function?  Or alternatively
beefing up the regexp a little bit?  It's pretty rudimetary at the
moment and there are plenty of more comprehensive alternatives
available, which could either be implemented in the core, or as a plugin.

The one at ilovejackdaniels.com seems a good start, if not 100% foolproof...
