Hello Santanu,

We plan on using the post_type field to store the Content-Type of
certain kinds of posts, such as image/jpeg or
application/x-shockwave-flash. If you also notice the additional value
for post_status, 'object', that will be used for attaching files or
URLs to posts and pages. This is presently implemented in the
[embryonic] image-uploading.php iframe in the Write Post and Write
Page admin panels. This allows such attachments to have their own
templates, their own permalinks and their own comments.
