[wp-testers] RC-1

I feel terrible saying this, but WP development looks kinda dead to
the casual user. The website hasn't changed (its appearance) in two
years, the development blog is rarely updated, and it's been 10 months
since 1.5! Also, as far as most people know (judging by the Codex) the
upcoming version of WP is merely 1.6, and most of the items are left
unfinished on 1.6's Codex page.

I know this sounds like a very Netscape 6-mentality, and one that it,
in a perfect world, wouldn't exist. But, alas, one shared by WP users
with whom I've spoken.

I don't want to see a catastrophic rush, but there will always be
bugs, and hopefully we'll squish most of them before the release.

A perfect product is never finished.
