[wp-testers] Permalinks bug

Hello all,

As I do not have a login for Trac at this moment, I figured I'd write about
this here. Maybe someone else will be able to file a bug report, if this
turns out to be a bug after all.

I just upgraded my blog (http://www.foundandlost.nl) to WP2.0 (released
version). Before, the permalinks worked fine. I have a page set up named
'Archieven' at root/archieven/ (http://www.foundandlost.nl/archieven/),
where a list of past posts is displayed.

My permalinks are like this:

Custom structure: /%year%/%monthnum%/%post_id%/%postname%/
This worked fine and it still does.

Category base: /archieven
This worked fine and does not anymore.

When the category base is changed, for instance to /tag, everything workes
fine. The problem seems to be that there is a single page, which has the
same slug as the category base. It is not unlike ticket #2003 (
http://trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2003), but there's a difference.

In one sentence: WP2.0, unlike WP1.5.2, does not seem to be able to handle
category permalinks which share the same partial slug.

Is there a workaround for this?

Jan
