I wonder if this is the same legal counsel that said they must write a
function that automatically capatialises the P in WordPress - otherwise
they'd loose their trademark. (Don't even go there!).

They need new lawyers .... ;)

I'd think that the risk of WordPress/Automattic getting in "trouble" 
of some sort when someone is ripped off by scum like Annie was a few 
posts ago (subject: warning message) is partially what prompted this 
decision. The legal risk is a cost that must be factored into their 
decision.

Agreed. It appears that WP has again made a decision without getting 
input from the people affected by the decision.

Does someone want to set up their own wp-pro mailing list? We've got 
a few days to get that done and publicized here on this list. Mike
