[wp-pro] Need help with recalcitrant dashboard

Hi,
I just upgraded a client's WP from 2.6.6 to 2.8.6. Now the menu is  
missing on the dashboard and I can't upload any media.

Tried deleting, re-dl'ing and uploading the wp-admin folder. No good.

How can I get help with this?
