Hi WordPress Pro's
I am consulting on a multi-language WP v2.7 project. One of the last
component hurdles we have is deciding which embedded online-chat
application makes most sense for our clients needs within WP.
Good Definition: Embedded chat in a website provides the ability to
more closely connect with your readers or customers, instantaneously.
Chat widgets provide real-time feedback and spur discussions - instant
access which is some times needed. This type of chat does not require
any client software. Clients can chat instantly, if online, directly
with the monitoring website provider.

The reference page-link was posted on 10.2.2007 so this is
technologically ancient - is there an more current, updated or other
lists floating out there that you could point me to.
??? I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions, additional
links, updated info, alternatives, info on any other embedded chat
software (free/open-source or small licensing fee). So far, we have
identified: Meebo and Plugoo as the two that most fits our needs but
lack the following:
1. ** Created in FLASH - would prefer AJAX or Std. PHP or something
else as FLASH is not compatible with some mobile platforms. Also
archiving chats, logs, etc..
2. ** Completely customizable layouts (fields) so that each type/style
of client can be customized to there WP theme 'look-n-feel'
3. ** Personalization/Customization - so that it does not look like a
marketing piece for the respective companies/website.
What the client likes, is that anyone and anytime and without any
software, when the site operator is ONLINE - text can be entered and
then instant contact with the website provider. If OFFLINE, then a
message can be left or URL to "Contact Us" page.
I have been reading other posts and watching some of the response
which appear to be very informative and helpful. I am hoping someone
out there can point me to suggestions, alternatives, updated lists,
URL or create options.
Thank you in advance for your time and any assistance.
Sincerely
Roy S.
