[wp-pro] need help trouble-shooting a mysql problem

starting wednesday (december 3rd) every post to a wordpress
2.3.1 installation (on a shared server) is generating a
mysql error message that includes the string:

   "Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' bytes"

in the #wordpress irc channel i was told to increase the
mysql max_allowed_packet value. since this wordpress
installation is on a shared host i cannot make this change.


i'd like to find someone who is fluent with this particular
mysql issue that i could pay to ask some questions of
regarding possible workarounds.
