[wp-pro] Seeking Recommendations on Load Testing Server Software-Open Source Preferred

All:

Currently I'm on a VPS basic account running Linux Red Hat Enterprise
Edition at Verio. Does anyone on the list have some experience or
recommendations on load testing server software? I want to simulate
running x amount of applications/ web sites, etc before deciding on
whether I should stay with Verio or move over to Mediatemple.
