Two more questions:

1. Are you using the latest WordPress from trunk?

2. Could you tell me what's the output of msgfmt -V on a Terminal?

This is strange, because I also tried poEdit 1.4.2 on Mac OS X and it
works fine. All the Add New were translated appropriately.
