Dear wp-hackers,

Since the release of Internet Explorer 9, all major browsers now support application/xhtml+xml, which is important for developers or web designers to embed SVG content on their websites. As SVG and other HTML5 technologies are expected to become popular, I think it is time time to make WordPress compatible with application/xhtml+xml.

I have 4 tickets opened in WordPress Trac to make WordPress support application/xhtml+xml. They are:

https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/14224 (Use NCR instead of HTML entity in feed autodiscovery links)
https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/14225 (Use NCRs instead of HTML entities in Twenty Ten)
https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/14226 (Add XHTML namespace declaration to Twenty Ten to provide XHTML compatibility)
https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/14363 (Atom feed is broken when WordPress is served as application/xhtml+xml)

I have validated my patches on Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 9, Firefox 4, Safari 5 and Opera 11. Please kindly review my patches and reply to the tickets :)

Thanks,
Franklin Tse
