Deleting things outright is bad. Try cleaning it up first. Then maybe
you can find what's adding the extra entries.

I like the WP-Crontrol plugin for managing what's happening in my cron.

Works fine in 3.2. Activate then go to Tools->Crontrol to see what
jobs are there.
