All tickets do get a set of eyes on them.  So, there's really nothing 
more you need to do for that to happen.  You could certainly discuss 
modifications to the core here and what the best approach, then you 
could modify the ticket accordingly.  That would be an more appropriate 
approach than to say.. find the ticket is rejected for some reason and 
to appeal the decision via this list.
