Treat him like an idiot while you are doing it and he'll punch you in
the face and steal your pole.
IMHO, businesses need to consider involvement in WordPress core
development a business imperative and one worthy of investment. If their
business is affected (and effected) by the features included in a
release, there is an obvious benefit to having their staff involved
early in the development cycle. They need to have involvement beyond
just deployment testing for their installs.
