Honestly, this whole thread appalls me. I can't believe I am using software written by people who think that potentially breaking other people's sites is a minor thing they should be making jokes about. As if everybody crawls their own site for 404s after a 0.1 upgrade. Seriously? And no, the line on http://codex.wordpress.org/Version_3.0#Posts is far from enough information.
