[wp-hackers] i18n problem:xgettext: unrecognized option `--package-name='

I'm trying to translate my theme into native language. I've followed
instructions found here:
http://codex.wordpress.org/I18n_for_WordPress_Developers at Generating
a POT file section. I've downloaded all the files from the trunk using
subversion. My server has latest gettext installation. But when I do:

php makepot.php wp-plugin your-plugin-directory (I use w-plugin switch
since I could not find a switch for themes)

I get this:

xgettext: unrecognized option `--package-name='
Try `xgettext --help' for more information.
Couldn't generate POT file!

Any solution to this?
