[wp-hackers] Show Media Filetype

On the Media Library, when items like .txt attachements are listed, they do
not have a small preview image to the left of them like images do, but I've
noticed a small txt file image in the 'Insert media' lightbox when uploading
a txt file.
Any chance an image representing the filetype for common files, zip, txt,
doc etc, could be shown next to the item in the 'Media Library' page?

It looks like this could already be on the cards, due to the icons in
'wp-includes/images/crystal/', but just wanted to check.
