Aren't both of these plugins in the WP directory? If so, I can't help
but wonder if this could be resolved more easily by getting these two
authors in touch with each other and sorting things out. "Hey, could
you give me attribution on that?" "Yeah, sure; sorry about that".

Much easier and less drama. Realistically, no one is ever going to get
"nailed" (legally, at least) over this issue, because it would be way
too expensive to try to take to court for little or no resulting
damages (in the monetary sense) at the end.

Can't we all just get along? :-)
