WP-Spamfree does not "catch" any spam, it simply prevents a client
without javascript from submitting a comment. Adding a manual hidden
field into your comment submission is just as effective, and also will
not block blind and other disabled people from commenting (which
WP-Spamfree does, as many of those browsers do not process
javascript).
