[wp-hackers] brain confusion

I've been developing a WP site in 2.3.1 with a custom theme based on  
Sandbox. It's going well. I've been developing it in my own dev space  
on my own server. It's a two column layout, and I'm using the Sandbox  
theme's way of doing the rough layout -- simply adjusting the numbers  
to change widths + spacing.

I just moved it to the soon-to-be-live site on the clients server.  
Someone else did the WP install -- but it is 2.3.1. I don't know much  
else about their set-up or what they did. So far, the WP install  
looks the same as what I've got. I copied the themes and plug-ins  
directories from my testing server over to the clients' server, and  
activated my theme-in-progress.

In Safari, the two sites look identical. In FireFox (for Mac), the  
site on the clients' server is all messed-up. The content div is  
misbehaving.... as if the CSS is wrong. But it's the _exact_ same CSS  
file.

My brain is confused about this. As I start troubleshooting, I don't  
have a clue as to what would cause such a difference ------
