So long as phpMyAdmin is connecting to MySQL (you don't get any errors,
it doesn't say MySQL server not found, etc.) then you don't have
anything to worry about.

WordPress uses the same method as phpMyAdmin. This conversation is
probably more suited for the support forums at wordpress.org than the
mailing list, btw.
