[wp-hackers] Close old comments and pingbacks: feature or plugin?

For what it's worth, I've completely deleted my wp-comments-post.php
file (as I use my comments preview plugin that circumvents it
anyways), with no noticeable decrease in the amount of comment spam
caught by SK2 and Akismet, so the spambots must mainly be submitting
to the form action, no matter what it's named.
