It is not far from the alt key though, so needs two hands assuming Alt Gr;
CTRL has a different meaning and isn't cross-platform IIRC.

The convention is that the first letter should be picked for accelerators,
but if occupied then move the second ("d" in address). You're looking at
terminology issues like Favourites and Bookmarks, Location and Address. At
least Microsoft have settled for the same RSS icon as Firefox...

For the record, Netscape used the word "location", not "address". As I
launch Netscape 4, I see that alt+L is the binding for location.

Speaking of Alt+D, I thought that the mailing lists suggested that it should
be left untouched due to Internet Explorer. I can vividly recall that
thread. Some people complained about that binding.
