When instructing people to upgrade, it is the folder you do NOT ever touch.

No, people without permalinks have these ugly "feed-templates" in
their URIs, not great. Maybe a /feed/ directory, but that could
interfere with the rewrites for those who have it installed. I think
they're perfectly fine as they are.
