I thought this was a good idea back in February when I saw something 
similar.  It doesn't seem too difficult, but I do object to adding yet 
another field to the four-field-and-a-button comment form.  I think if 
it got to the point where it was saving users time to log in this way, 
rather than making them jump through hoops for no great reason, it might 
have some advantage that could be leveraged to replace or augment the 
existing method.

Also, it's somewhat implausible to expect that the comment form is going 
to look a certain way on every blog - inserting a new field into that 
mix via plugin would be difficult or ugly.  Using an existing field 
would be ideal.

I thought I heard someone on IRC working on this today.  Who was that, 
and what were you planning?
