I don't know about Matt's plans with wordpress.org, but for my project I 
don't care where the readme is located per se, just that there is one. 
If people really want 500 sites spidered I can live with that, as long 
as there's a microformat or something they use that mirrors the info I'd 
get out of the readme, ie div class="readme-starts" div 
class="shortdesciption", div class="contributors", etc.
