[wp-forums] Something for the 3.9 Master List?

More specifically (quoting from the linked thread):

I just downloaded the file
https://downloads.wordpress.org/release/is_IS/wordpress-3.9.zip
and then checked inside the /wp-includes/version.php file:

 */
$wp_version = '4.0-alpha';


These guys need some help from someone who knows how to help them. (Do they
need to find a way to roll back? Can they merely change the version number
in the core file? What's their solution?) I'm just raising the issue here,
so the right people can see it and help them.

(I'm *guessing* that a translation string got stuffed up somehow, and that
all of them actually *do* have version 3.9?)
