[wp-forums] "Warning: number_format()…" error ?

There seem to be a number of people getting this error when trying to add plugins:

Warning: number_format() expects parameter 1 to be double, string given in /home/a/r/xxxxxxxxxxxx/wp-includes/functions.php on line 155
