[wp-forums] Bozo no bozo?

I've not seen many Bozo posts from him, is it worth Bozoing if his contributing posts outweigh his noncontributing posts?
@Mark Ratledge Should we be penalising unsmart answers? We've all been wrong on forums, it's how we learn.

Is it just me, or is a bozo not really a bozo anymore? I thought that when someone who was bozoed - like http://wordpress.org/support/profile/noahjonah (who is back at work today, incidentally) - would have their posts be invisible to users.

Thought for sure last week I saw that was the case; bozo meant invisibility, and when I logged out, bozo posts were not viewable. But today I log out and still see all his posts.

I don't have "bozo" powers so I don't see the options for that setting or know anymore than this, or what I thought I saw. -- songdogtech

Both "This user is a bozo" and "Akismet Always Trust" were checked, probably a conflict. I unchecked the latter, can't remember if "Akismet Never Trust" should be checked instead.

Mark: Bozo means that, at first, their posts have to be approved. But
sometimes we manually approve them if they calm down. If the post needs
approval, it'll be in red while you're logged in as an admin.

James: We only check the Akismet Never if they're a spammer. If they're
just having a bad day and lost their minds, Bozo stands until they calm
the heck down. Having Akismet TRUST there implies he was dinged for bad
behavior, but not spamming, and needed a time out.

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying! So much has changed, one of these days I'll be involved enough again to keep track.

If we had another way to put someone in time out, I'd use it, so we
don't clutter the spam queue with real people :/

OK, all I see is a red BOZO under their name, link and avatar in the threaded view. The post itself is normal color. I don't see an Akismet check off.

But I do see i.e., this recent post is yellow and was flagged as spam: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/giving-an-original?replies=0&view=all

BTW, bozo needed for this serious spammer http://wordpress.org/support/profile/somiya
