Tempted to tell him that not running the latest version of Ubuntu
ain't our fault either. ;)

I've got FF 6.0.2 running on Ubuntu 11.04 - the Natty Narwhal  running
on my wiped Acer Apsire & also 64bit  , but I also get a "Chrome is
out of date" nag. which, you know, I just ignore. :P

He's probably checking for updates on an outdated Ubuntu repo. If he's
using Iceweasel instead (and just calling it FF) then it's usually
running behind.
