And now, to follow up my own post with the inevitable snagging list...

Firstly, folk will be asking if there's a way to allow subscription 
without posting content.

Secondly, the same deal goes for unsubcribing.

I couldn't see any management options in the admin at my level for 
managing subscriptions from the admin side. If such a management screen 
exists is it possible to make it visible to the site-admin level users? 
(Here I am just anticipating any potential issues that can't be resolved 
at the front end.)
