Something needs to be said somewhere, or failing that, the wp forums need a
section for wordpress.com

People are trying to help, then realising the question is about
wordpress.com, which is based on a version of WP that's officially not
supported on the forums. Aaaargh, etc.

Yes. Less confusion all round if the support is in its own place - with a
link from the dashboard of wordpress.com sites, maybe?
