We no longer use Akismet on a site-wide basis for our spam though
because they require you put
<a moz-do-not-send="true" href="http://Wordpress.com">Wordpress.com</a>
and Akismet in the footer of each site and we didn't want to have
that limitation. <br>

For the record, that's not so anymore. Once upon a time, instead of
paying discounted edu rates, an option for edus using Akismet was
free cost in exchange for those links. Now edus just have the same
rates as companies.<br>
