Re licences:
Not wishing to start yet another GPL related flamefest; I just want to point
out that Creative Commons licences are not, in general, compatible with the
GNU GPL, so leave those for content only, and stick with GPL for code.

Also you must always specify which CC licence, there are many, and they are

someone/something owns the copyright. They are all based on the copyright
owner licensing you to use the work in a certain way.
