Actually, it's been in trunk. What is more recent (and very beta-type stuff) is realizing that the way it was implemented could have unintended effects. Hence the poll. We're not adding a new widgets feature this late in the game, just gut checking a parameter before it's too late this cycle.<div class="HOEnZb">
