Someone with ssh access would have to run the following scripts:

Go to the maintenance folder and run

$ php purgeoldtext.php

(see http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:PurgeOldText.php That will delete
all revisions for all deleted pages.)

Then you'd probably want to run either rebuildall.php or
rebuildrecentchanges.php.
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Rebuildall.php is documented but the
other's pretty obvious.
