Hi Peter,

I'm afraid I don't agree with a number of your points. I'll expand below:

They are all function references, but of two distinct applications. See
further comments below.

Renaming it seems reasonably sensible, but at the same time I think it
would need to be refactored to be similar to the main function reference
-- at the moment it's not much of a reference, just a list! Splitting
functions up into categories would make it much more user friendly.

Absolutely not. WPMU and WP keep separate codebases -- they are not
currently the same thing. Mixing the functions up may well lead to
confusion amongst developers new to WP who might think that those
functions are available to them. They should be distinct from the
functions bundled in WP for as long as MU is distinct from the main WP
codebase.

I disagree. Mixing the functions up will cause confusion. Categories
are only listed at the bottom of each page, and I would even go so far
as to suggest that the majority of 'normal' users aren't really aware of
their existence. It's very helpful to have that kind of information in
the page title (not to mention having it in the address bar itself!),
and as the title is derived from the URL I don't think this should be
changed.

Which, in my opinion, is wrong. Until the two are merged it's a
different thing and we shouldn't muddle it all together
