Comment:

 For now closing this ticket since it's unclear what the goal is for doing
 this. We do want to highlight the effort people made but I don't think
 badges are the way to go. I rather see highlighting the quality of the
 work they did. So profiles as we have now is a good start for it.

 We can always build a plugin around this and see how it would work out on
 an (test) install.
