 I thought well about it and was pretty sure it shouldn't break stuff. To
 understand it better, in which cases does it break?

 On a usability perspective it does make sense. You want to export the file
 without the need to change the filename.
 Also we can't really ditch the GlotPress only languages codes since not
 all locales do have a wp_locale but I guess changing GlotPress language
 code will break stuff too.
