 johnjamesjacoby thanks for giving an overview of how the new component
 will function. I was originally drawn to this ticket due to @-mentions not
 working in blog posts and comments due to a side effect of the @-mention
 architecture as pointed out by Boone in ticket
 [http://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5230/ 5230]. The new
 component will certainly open up lots of possibilities. Excited to see
 this in 1.9!
