 This was copied from
 [http://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/branches/1.2/bb-
 includes/functions.bb-core.php#L367bbPress's bb_since() function], and
 then iterated on. I agree that keeping the existing functionality is
 fortunate mistake, and that keeping the existing functionality seems best.

 Also, I like the idea of allowing customization of the intervals.
 Eventually, I'd like to connect some JS to them, and live update timestamp
 in the DOM every 30 seconds too. Lots we can do with timestamps and time-
 since in the future.
