 Using the bp-default theme with BP 1.7.2 or 1.8-beta1, the group
 membership request form within a single group isn't loaded. If I use
 Twenty Twelve and rely on theme compatibility, the form is loaded as
 expected.

 Looking at the generated html, I can see that #item-body is empty.
