 Thanks, mercime. Your patch is dramatically better than what we've
 currently got (and covers the Groups and Members directories quite nicely,
 which are the only directories that are relevant for this particular
 overlap issue), so I'm going to go ahead and commit it. If others have
 improvements to suggest, patches welcome :)
