Comment (by r-a-y):

 Point no. 1 and the first half of point no. 2 should be fixed as of r6452.

 The second half of point no. 2 is a duplicate of #1419.

 Try disabling activity stream commenting for blog posts and comments in
 the BP admin area until a plugin or a cross-posted solution is worked out.
